Midwest Board Member Receives National Award

Midwest Women and Children’s Services Board Member Receives National Honor

Recipient of the National CACFP Forum – 2018 FRIEND AWARD
Chris Daleiden Clark

Chris Daleiden Clark began her career in a California Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) organization where she provided training to family child care business owners. After 10 years of direct service, she went on to specialize in Child Development Playground Equipment in Southern California.

In 2003, Chris worked with a new scanning software company and by 2005 that company merged with another software company - Minute Menu Inc. Minute Menu’s software was created to ease the burden of data flow for state agencies and local organizations responsible for monitoring the CACFP in child care facilities and businesses. Soon thereafter she began a long-term career within Minute Menu Systems, Inc., as Director of Training and Sales.

A mother of two grown daughters and two grown step-daughters, as well as five beautiful grand children, her life has always been busy. Chris’s journey has led her to various volunteer interests which include the American Cancer Society, the Down Syndrome Association, the California CCFP Roundtable, and Conejo Valley Day Care Association just to name a few. Her participation in these groups afforded her the opportunity to utilize her superior communication skills as well as share her wealth of knowledge in organizing special events and projects.

Chris has worked tirelessly in every facet of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). She is one of our national leaders in promoting and protecting the CACFP in the Washington D. C., in her own state of California and throughout the country. That is why this particular award bestowed on her and her husband Tom is so richly deserved.

Chris joined the Midwest Women and Children’s Services board of Directors in 2013 and presently serves as it’s Vice President. “Her guidance and counsel has been invaluable to me and my organization as we plan our future strategies and goals, says Janet White Phelan, Midwest’s CEO. “I feel very lucky that Chris is willing to advise and support Midwest’s efforts here in Nebraska. She is not only a true leader, but a very kind and thoughtful woman.”
