You will be able to identify the health benefits of complex carbohydrates and whole grains . You will understand the role of whole grains in meeting children's nutritional needs. Plus you will learn easy to prepare and kid-friendly recipes which meet the CACFP guidelines and learn to incorporate a variety of whole grains into meal planning. The Role of Child Care Centers in Meeting Children's Nutritional Needs

(Centers Only Training) Discussion on the nutritional needs of toddlers and the role played by child care center in managing food challenges and behaviors that may interfere with a child meeting his/her nutritional needs. We will discuss the role that physical activity plays in the over-all health of the toddler and review meal and snack time habits that improve a child's relationship with food. Also, we will discuss helping children develop an understanding and appreciation for their bodies for long-term health.
